Anabaptist Mennonite priorities emerge but with appreciation for the churches wider historical context and traditions. Reimer refuses to consider these topics either too controversial or too boring. Rather, he imagines exciting encounters with the mysteries of faith that can only come from a dogmatic imagination.

This book helps congregations learn how to make decisions in healthy ways-focused on God's purposes, and growing in love and truth. Sally Weaver Glick approaches congregational discernment as a process of hearing and entering God's "song." Discernment is what we do to distinguish between God's music and our own static and noise. Here is a resource for any who care about the recovery of faith- based educational practices that are part of a church-school-family ecology. Shenk's aim is to present a strong rationale for tradition- based, critical education that incorporates core practices for strengthening faith communities into its theorizing. The book offers a viable proposal for the Anabaptist-Mennonite faith community often featured in the discussion.
