Recorded Music
Early German hymns sung in Lutheran, Reformed, Mennonite and other churches in the 1700s and early 1800s. The recording includes 21 German hymns sung to slow tunes. Nine of the hymns come from an 1803 Lutheran hymnal, nine are found in a 1797 Reformed book, and all are found in Mennonite hymnals. All the hymns are still used by several old order Mennonite groups. An informal anonymous old order ensemble sings them on this CD to slow tunes derived from German chorales, ancient folk tunes, or from later tunes of American hymnody. This CD replaces the cassette Gesangbuch Treasures.

Plautdietsch
De Bibel is a Low German Bible. The New Testament is a revision of Daut Niehe Tastament translated by J.J. Neufeld. The Old Testament was translated by Ed Zacharias, a missionary among the Mennonites in Mexico. The translation is in the Old Colony dialect rather than the Molotschna dialect. However, regardless of the dialogue spoken, research shows that the reader is able to read the text.

Includes 9 pages of maps. Copyright Nov 2003 Kindred Productions.

Ausbund
The new pocket size Ausbund & Lieder Sammlung "nota buch" is a two-year labor of love for Ben Troyer, Jr, Jonathan Miller, and Mahlon Gingerich from Holmes County, Ohio. Putting shaped notes to these church tunes will do much to preserve the Amish singing style by helping to familiarize young people with each of the 69 tunes in this book. Though shaped notes were chosen a person does not need to know shaped notes to learn the songs.
