The seventh recording in the Hymnal Masterworks series. Let All Who Thirst: Hymns for Piano is performed by pianist Lucia Unrau and arranged and produced by her husband Peter Terry. The recording features adaptations of 14 hymns from Hymnal: A Worship Book, including "I am the Bread of life," "O healing river," "What wondrous love is this," "All hail the power of Jesus' name," and "Be thou my vision." Unrau and Terry are both on the faculty at Bluffton College, Bluffton, Ohio, where Unrau is Professor of Music and Terry is Director of Instructional Technology.
Let All Who Thirst continues the tradition of the Hymnal Masterworks series, highlighting the importance of the hymn as a means of religious expression in Anabaptist denominations. All hymns featured on the recordings are taken from Hymnal: A Worship Book. Let All Who Thirst grew out of the joy Unrau and Terry have experienced in sharing hymn adaptations with their family, friends, and church community. They are parents of three young children. According to the artists, the recording is an expression of "the power of the hymns and their ability to nurture and inspire us." | |
